Gymnastics - She's Back!

I've been trying to talk Kate into Curling, but she seems pretty happy being back in gymnastics!

Warm & Cozy

While Jack has been doing a whole lots of this...

 and more,

and even more (we aren't complaining),

Kate has been busy at the zoo,

and getting ready for school!

The New Normal

One of Drew's former co-workers at Loyola Academy, and a member of a large Irish-Catholic family, told us a story before we had Kate.  After having her first child, she looked at her own mom and asked in all seriousness, "How could you only have 9!?".  I certainly had some fears before our new addition arrived.  Namely, how could we love another human being as much as we love Kate?  And, I thought we had a pretty good thing going as a party of 3 so how is this new person going to fit in the mix?  Everyone advised that it wouldn't take long before we loved our second just as much as Kate and that, quickly, we couldn't imagine/remember life without them.  Of course I knew this, but the reassurance was nice.  And now, we have living proof!  It's only day 6, but I'm confident in stating that Jack Eder is going to be a solid addition to Team Eder :)

Get me out of this hospital!!  (looking ready Soochi 2014)

Jack Carbon Eder

We were thrilled to welcome our son, Jack Carbon Eder, on Monday, January 20th at 6:56pm!  He weighed in at 7lb. 15 oz. and 21 inches long and is the spitting image of his dad.  Although Kate made it clear she was hoping for a "girl baby", we are certain she will be a great big sister (who won't have to share clothes :)

Baby It's Cold Outside

Kate has had a wonderful Christmas Break!  Much to her delight, the weather has been such that we have been trapped in the house more often than not.  Her parents, on the other hand, are going just a little bit stir crazy :)  With Baby Eder #2 set to arrive very shortly, we are enjoying the time we have left as a family of 3!

Santa Claus is Coming to Town!

Except, Santa, please don't come in our house.  Just leave the presents at the front door, ok?

This was the conversation we had with Kate about 47 times in the week before Christmas.  Santa is such a good guy that he happily obliged and left the presents on our front steps when Kate was at school.  Here is a quick snapshot of Christmas 2013 for the Eder Family!
