Big Sister!

Kate is very excited that she will be a BIG SISTER in January!  She is certain the baby is a girl and that the baby's name will be "Baby Kate".  When we mentioned that it was possible the baby would be a boy, her face filled with shock:)  Although we won't know until the baby is born whether it will be a boy or girl, Kate will definitely be a great big sister!

First Day of School

Kate had her first full day at Kensington School in LaGrange today!  She ate, slept, went potty in the toilet and made a jelly fish so I'd say it was a successful day.  It is definitely safe to say that she had an easier time with it than her parents did!  We expect, in a few short weeks, Kate will be the mayor of the "2's" room.

Gymnastics

Kate really enjoyed the first few weeks of her gymnastics class this summer!  The last couple of weeks were not quite as enjoyable, but she battled through it :)  She has two things going for her in terms of her future gymnastic endeavors...1. A low, solid center of gravity (good balance) and 2. Pure strength!

Water Fun

In an attempt to squeeze every ounce of fun we could out of the summer, Drew, Kate and I took off for a quick trip to Wisconsin Dells.  Kate loved and we will most definitely be back!

It's About Time!

I think this happens every summer...I stink at updating the blog.  So, here is an update!  It's funny, every summer since Kate was born Drew and I have said that said summer was the "best one ever".  This year is no exception!  Kate is entertained by almost any activity and LOVES being home with her mom and dad :)

Summer Fun

This past weekend was a fun and busy one! 

 We did a little swimming with The Lloyd's on Thursday

 And, of course, going down the slide (8 times)

 Then we took off for Galena for a weekend getaway with the Eders.  Kate is testing our sled for the BIG slide we went down.

And, because we were not completely exhausted yet, we ended the weekend with a trip to a local carnival. 

Hilton Head Island 2013

The Sand Fam took off for a week of fun in the sun to Hilton Head Island.  We all had fun swimming, alligator watching and over-applying sunscreen!
